Chart Filters

While building your chart, you can create and apply internal filters to its data. These filters are part of the chart and are retained in all instances of the chart across the entire application. Furthermore, they are not visible outside the edit mode and can’t be used for interaction. This makes them a secure and discreet way of filtering the data.

You can apply additional interactive filters to data from other access points, using various scopes. For more information, see Introduction to Filters. These techniques also apply to internal chart filters.

To add a filter, select Add Filters.

Chart filters

Select a target column for the filter from the list of dataset columns. The options that appear depend on the data type of the selected column. Choose the operator and desired values and select Apply.

Chart filters modal

The Filters section updates to display the filter and its selected values.

Chart filters update

You can add any number of filters to the chart. AND logic applies between filters on various columns, while on the same column use OR logic.

You cannot change the condition of an internal chart filter. However, you can remove each value, or the entire filter by selecting the X icon next to each value or the filter. To edit or remove this filter, you must first select the Edit link for its associated chart.
